What is the best way to package and send an orchid. It needs to travel about 1100 miles. It was given to me and I don't want it anymore. Don't feel right killing it, so I decided to return it to the rightful owner. Anyone have any suggestions on how to package and send it so it will be received in one piece. Thank you in advance
How do you mail/ship an orchid?
Get an express/priority mailing box of apropriate size. Place the pot in a plastic bag. Add shredded paper around the stems/leaves, pull plastic up and seal. Place in box, add more shredded paper if necessary. Be sure to send it priority. Label the outside: Perishable, Plant Material, Please handle with care, Hand Cancel. This side up. Get the tracking number and follow its process.
Reply:ONE THING THE ANSWERFAILED TO MENTION WAS FIRST SEE THAT THE COUNTRY YOU INTEED SENDING IT TO ALLOWS THE IMPORT OF PLANT MATERIALS AS ITS A VERY SERIOUS OFFENCE TO SEND PLANT MATERIALS TO CERTAIN COUNTRIES Report It
