Orchid question!?

I am ordering green orchids from the florist to put in my hair for May Day. I will be dancing in 4 performances - 2 on Thursday and 2 on Friday. If I pick up the flowers for BOTH days on Wednesday afternoon and keep them in the refrigerator, will the orchids for Friday still be fresh??? They would have to last for 2 %26amp; 1/2 days.



Please include in your answer how long orchids last, not just if they will be fresh. They won't have stems to soak up water; it will just be the blossoms and nothing else.

The Florist, if aware of the circumstances, should be able to give you the best advice. They should already be in bags that are blown up ready for the refrigerator. You should have two sets, one for Thurs, and another for Fri. But the ones you pick up Weds, should last though Fri.
Reply:if you are getting them from the florist they should be in those little water filled tubes, the flowers should have a bit of stem to them. Even so they probably will stay fresh for a few days. When one of mine breaks a stem they last a week or 2 in water. Good luck!
Reply:I would place the end of the flowers in a couple moist paper towels and put them in zip lock baggies blown up with air and keep them cool. My friend did that with an orchid flower when we had to bring in flowers from our house for a horticulture class we were in and it still looked like he had just picked it after a couple weeks. This way should keep them fresh for a long time. Hope this was helpful and good luck with your dances!!
