What is the meaning of an orchid flower?

This Valentine's Day I'm thinking of giving my significant other a bundle of orchids. I'm just not sure what the meaning of that type of flower is... ?

My friend told me that she watched the movie "The perfect Man" and one of the quotes was, "A woman loves orchids, because they make her feel like she's floating on a cloud of possibility”. ????

Any suggestions?
