I have a Phal and a Dendrobium I purchased about 1-2 months ago. I put them on the window sill (facing west) above my bathtub (so they'll get misted everyday) along with my other 2 healthy and still flowering orchids. The Phal has 4 leaves and 3 of the leaves are now wrinkly. I water every week and fertilize every other week. Can anyone tell me what happened? Was it too dry? Do I water too much? Is it the pot? I use sea-grass-like natural pot and it is pretty large (8"x5"). The Dendrobium started with 3 branches. The leaves on the 2 smaller branches started to yellow and I had to cut them all off. The color of the branches are still green. Only 1 branch now has leaves but they start yellow-ing as well. I use the same caring regime as my other orchids. The pot is exactly the same as the Phal that is wrinkly. There is no wrinkle on the leaves of the Dendrobium. What did I do? Thank you for helpin. P.S. I used different and smaller pots for my other healthy orchids that are still flowerin

Reply:If you used a smaller pot on the other two than that might be your probmlem orchids are very touchy. It also might be that it is getting to much sun, or that you are watering it, make sure that the roots aren't sitting in water. Also the plant might have caught a disease, or some kind of pest. And depending on how long ago that occured it can spread to your other orchids, I recomenf that you go to your local library and check out Orchids for Dummies. It's a great book that explains a lot. Hope this helps!
Reply:i water only when the moss is completely dry and almost crispy - but i think that it likely works out to about once per week - same as you.
are the roots getting enough air? my happy orchids are planted in ceramic pots with holes cut out from top to bottom.
i wonder about your sea grass pot... maybe something from the seagrass doesn't agree with your orchid?
or maybe it got too chilly by the window?
sorry - hope it works out for ya
