Where can I find Information on specific orchid names and attributes?

I'm looking to find out info on a skinerii Cattleya and other orchids of costa rica. Any Ideas? Fragrance, color, how rare or plentiful, local distributers/growers... Like this kinda info. If ya know or just think ya know plz drop me a line at Sobezander@yahoo.com Hey, Thanks.

I'm not a great orchid resource, however, I'm a darned good plant finder!



I typed into my search engine, Michigan orchid, and found that we had a statewide orchid society. That would be my suggestion to you, your state orchid society.



They would be a wealth of info. especially on the care and culture of rare or exotic orchids. They probably will also know where you might be able to find the plants you're interested in.

Reply:Mail order catalogues for hobbyists are plentiful along every line you can think of and I'm sure orchids are no exceptions. There are also books which might be found at the library or on-line that catalogue many varieties of interest. Be sure to find out which varieties can be brought to the U.S. legally as well.
