What do I do with my orchid now that the blooms have fallen off?

Some say leave the stem in case it blooms again, some say cut it off entirely, some say cut it at the third nub. What do you say? It's my first orchid!

What do I do with my orchid now that the blooms have fallen off?
It depends what kind of orchid it is, if it is a Phaleanopsis, then cut the flower stem off right below where the first blossom was. If it is a Catleya sut of the flower stem and continue to care for it. If it is a Cymbidium, cut of the stem and continue caring for it. Hope this helped.
Reply:FEED IT WITH A SPECIAL ORCHID FOOD WHICH CAN BE BOUGHT AT ANY GREENHOUSE OR ONLINE STORE...... THEN TRIM ONLY THAT PART THAT LOOKS TIRED.
Reply:Some orchids only bloom once a year. That's what I've been told anyways. It seemed like it took a year for mine to regrow it's blooms. So I decided to stick with fake orchids. They look great all year long, and no up-keep or special attention needed!
