How do I maintain my orchid?
Well, it really depends on the type of orchid. What does the tag say? Most you have to water once a week or so...the best way is to put the pot in a big bowl or dish pan, fill it with water and let it soak for about 10-15 minutes. Take it out and let it drain. Let the potting material get almost dried out before you water again. Mist the leaves a few times a day as well as they like a humid environment. They normally like bright light, but no direct sunlight.

Having one of the flowers drop off is really no big deal...they're going to eventually anyway and you don't know how long they were blooming before you bought it. Some orchids only bloom a day, some keep the blooms for months.

But don't worry...if it's taken a month for the first bloom to drop, you're doing something right!
