How often should i water my orchid?
Though orchids need to stay in a well lighted place, make sure you avoid full direct sunlight, along the window sills, don’t open the blinds wide whenever the light is coming strongest onto the spot. Ideal temperature, usually between 18 to 25 degrees.

Orchids should be kept moderately moist. Use a water spray to water them, at least one time per week, don't use a heavy water can because too much water could drown them. Plant food/manure also helpful

Look at your orchid regularly and learn to see how it is when healthy and so be able to react to any changes.
Reply:A general care regimen can and will kill your orchid in a relatively short amount of time. personally, i have lost orchids within 2 weeks when i gave them general care and cared for them as like a common house plant. HOWEVER, they are easy to take care of once their needs are met. to answer this question, i would need to know what kind of orchid it is to tell you how to take care of it. however, the one word of advice i can give you is that if the orchid is potted in moss, a soft squishy material, i would change that immediately to a bark based orchid growing medium. this is because moss does not allow for orchid roots to dry and breath. if you don't the orchid will definitely rot and die. they do not need to be kept constantly moist, as periodic drying of the roots are beneficial to the orchid( depending on the type. My best help would be for you to look up the orchid culture sheets on aos.org, and follow their recommendations, since they are the leading organization in the us about orchids. i would say that having your orchid in the window may be safe, just as long as it's not direct sun. filtered sun is allright, but not constant direct sun. it also may be too dry by the window sill, since orchids of most kinds need higher humidity. i hope that this may obe of some help.
