as long as any kind of flower, they last a day without water at best, several weeks if given water, and months if the flower is left on the plant. This is because water does evaporate from the orchid, and being that the flower doesn't have a thick waxy coating on it to prevent dessication, they don't last very long without water, especially if they are large showy orchids, since they have a large surface area.
