How do you start a branch of a orchid in a pot?

every time i've seen someone grow a plant from a clipping, they take the clipping and put the clipped end in a glass or vase of water until it gets some roots then plant it - if you want to make sure, just call your local plant nursery, they'll be glad to help

Reply:Orchids rarely grow from cuttings-the exception being vanilla.

Otherwise, if you don't have roots already, you're out of luck. If it's a division that does have leaves and roots, just pot it up (gently!) as you would a young orchid- bark or sphagnum, appropriate size pot, soak generously with water.
