How do u bring Orchid Bulbs back to life?

Are these hardy orchids, that will grow outside, or are they a more tropical type - there are many types or orchids. It would really be helpful if you could add the type of orchid that you have, or at least if they are outdoors hardy orchids, or the indoors type.

Some orchids produce false bulbs, known as pseudo bulbs, which typically live above ground level. They grow roots, but would need their 'bulb' above ground, as this photosynthesizes, using the light. Without light, you could well find that you orchid will rot underground, and it will not be able to grow. If you have an indoor orchid, with a false bulb, then you can use some small canes to keep it upright, whilst it re-roots. Use chipped bark orchid compost for this type of orchid and not garden soil.

There's some information here:

I live in England, and there are quite a few orchids that live year round in our gardens here. These include the Bletillas and Pleione varieties. Some info here: http://www.dutchbulbs.com/store/specialt...

These are planted an inch or two below the soil. The soil should have some good mature compost added, as this helps to retain moisture, which they must have in order to grow and flower well. Water well from this point onwards. In autumn, cut back the dead foliage, and protect with a good mulch of leaves etc, in the coldest places.

These do well in semi-shaded locations.

Hope these thoughts help, it would be ideal to know the type of orchid that you have, in order to give you fully accurate precise help. Good luck! Rob

Reply:All YOU must do is plant %26amp; tend them. YOU do not bring them "back" to life. This is part of normal life cycle of the plant.

All plants must die before begining to grow. YOU plant a bulb in the ground that is still alive And it will take longer to sprout. It must die first. This is normal. Simply place your plant in the ground and nourish it. GOD and Nature will resume controll of the cycle.
