How do I re pot my dendrobium orchid? (uk)?

This was bought for me 2 years ago when my son was born. It has flowered twice (since I started feeding it.....) but now, it seems to be getting a bit big for its pot. Do I repot it? If yes, how? There doesn't seem to be any compost as such, just a mass of roots, and more and more are appearing on the stems and winding their way down towards the pot!!!

The winding roots are normal. Orchids get moisture from the air and therefore grow this type of root. When repotting an orchid, you'll need an orchid pot (or other type of pot that offers very good drainage- orchids don't like to have their feet sitting in water). You'll also need a good quality orchid mulch or similar potting medium. You can usually buy this at your local garden shop, greenhouse or home improvement warehouse. A good potting medium will have very uniform sized pieces. Other than that, it's pretty similar to repotting any plant. If you are nervouis to do it, you could also see if your local greenhouse offers repotting services.
