My mom just bought me an orchid for my apartment. What do I do to keep it alive?

I don't exactly have a green thumb...does it need sunlight? shade? how often should I water it and how much water? It's just little, there only about 4 blossoms on it but theres about 8 or 9 other buds so I want them all to bloom. Got to impress mom, right?!

Growing orchids is great when they flower,,,offer it filterd light or morning sun....fertilize every two weeks and water it with a spray mister,,,they like Humidity,,,,

Orchids like compacted roots, warm weather, humidity and love,,,You will be fine

Good Luck!
Reply:I've heard form a Friend who has one, NOT TO OVERWATER!

Her's sounds like the size of yours. She keeps it in a BRIGHT room, no Direct Sun indoors and Facing the widow, light and only gives it 1/4 cup of water per Week!

They don't mind Humidity but, we have 'no humidity' here in California....lol...lol...her's is doing fine!

Good luck, Impressing Mom is one thing.....but....an ORCHID .... lol....!
