How can I save an orchid (in moss) that got too much water?

Some buds have fallen off, and the blooms don't look as healthy as they did.

I am assuming that your orchid is a tropical epiphyte orchid. These orchids can be distinguished by their rather thick foamy roots, that turn green when wet, but remain silvery white when dry. For an orchid like this, i would say to change growing mediums, because moss will cause the orchid to drown. I would transfer the orchid, removing all of the moss, to a bark based orchid growing medium. I wouldn't grow it in potting soil, as this means death to an orchid. If the growing medium is swtiched, there shouldn't be a reason why your orchid will not live to flower again. Flowers are temporary, but if the medium is not changed, the orchid will flower still, but in an attempt to reproduce before it dies. If you want the best flowers, then change the medium and make your orchid happy, then it will make many large blooms for months to come.
Reply:THANK YOU! Got the bark, and food, and it looks better aleady. BE, 6/28/07 Report It
Reply:Take it out of the container , trim off the soft or dead looking roots ,Healthy ones are white. And re-pot, with new bark. Use serialised scissors. Bye
