they like to be sprayed everyday with water...you can buy a dripper bottle from any garden centre for 99p you put that straight into the pot %26amp; it feeds them...I keep mine on a south facing window....dont repot it even if the roots are coming out...only when its really pot bound...remember they grow on trees %26amp; rock faces etc...they pretty much do there own thing, but dont keep moving it about though as it wont flower...I have 6 %26amp; they flower on averege 2 times a year the flowers last of ages...the biggest is about 3ft high %26amp; when it last flowered had 7 flower spikes with about 20 flowers per spike...that one I've had for about 10yrs now though...good luck %26amp; get a good orchid book. ;o)
Reply:In my country, usually we plant orchid with charcoal instead of soil. place the orchid in the middle of the flowerpot and fill it with small or medium size of charcoal. Dont place it under hot sun and water it once per day is sufficient.
Reply:A friend of mine entrusts the care of her beautiful orchids to me when she goes away. They are kept on a shaded window sill, out of direct sunlight, and she gives them just three tablespoons of water a week, in one go.
Reply:Identify what kind it is and then take proper care of it.

See source for information on growing popular orchids in your home.
Reply:We have two orchids both are about 3-4 years old we keep in yhe conservortory in quite warm conditions but do not keep them too moist, so let them have plenty of sun shine and no draughts.
