Can i use regimate for krypt orchid stallion horses?

No, you need to just pay for the surgery to remove the teste.

Regimate is used to regulate mares, not stallions. When you have a teste remaining, you will always have testerone. The only solution is to surgically remove it.

Can i use regimate for krypt orchid stallion horses?
ummmmmm NO!!
Reply:Regumate is a progesterone hormone, and yes, you can use it in stallions under the direction of a veterinarian to keep the horse's testosterone levels in check and keep him less studdy. Incidentally, progesterone can also be used in geldings that have stud-like behaviour issues...... But --- why the heck would you want to keep a cryptorchid stallion around living on hormones???? Just remove the teste.
Reply:I had a cryptorchid stallion and was told by my vet that you can do a hormone therapy on him and sometimes they will go ahead and drop. But the success rate is very low (less than 20%) and the stallion has to be very young (6 months to 1 year) to have any chance at all. These stallions also almost always develop cancer in groin area later in life due to the retained teste. And you notice I said used to have. He is now a gelding and doing great. Good Luck.
Reply:That's something new! Anyway, I've heard that many people use depo on their show horses...both mares AND geldings. Interesting isn't it? Apparently it works with both genders to tone the spirted behaviour (or whatever it may be/what you want to call it) down a notch.
Reply:You could get by for a while, but it's a band aid. I would suggest taking care of the problem like it should be taken care of, wait until the horse is close to 2 yrs old, by then, it might have dropped anyway, saving you a lot of money when it comes to castration. If it doesn't drop, you should call several vets to get different quotes, some will quote high because they really don't know what or where they are going to find before they get in there and sort of "start fishing". Try contacting a college that has a vet dept and you might get the whole surgery done quite reasonable...just don't try to take shortcuts, they don't work and someone could get hurt in the process. I do hope that this helps and I'm sorry that you have to deal with this.
